The Hässleholm–Lund Project

Due to a government decision 22 December 2022, Trafikverket has finished the planning of new main lines including Hässleholm-Lund. Trafikverket is currently evaluating possible development of the railway in Skåne.

The information below is based on the work before the government decision on 22 december 2022.

Trafikverket, the Swedish Transport Administration, plan to build a new approximately 70 km long double-track railway for high speed trains and fast regional trains between Hässleholm and Lund.

Hässleholm-Lund is one of the links in a new high speed railway network between Stockholm and Gothenburg/Malmö. Running through the heart of Sweden’s southernmost province of Skåne, it’s the key to connecting the south of Sweden to Stockholm. Hässleholm-Lund is a 70 km long double-track high speed railway with a top speed of 320 km per hour. When the new main line is completed, you’ll be able to travel between Stockholm and Malmö in a significantly shorter amount of time than today’s 4 hours and 25 minutes. With the new network comes an increase in accessibility meaning both people and businesses will be brought closer together.
